How to pass the Singapore Final Theory Test (FTT)

The Final Theory Test (FTT) is the second theory test for a Singapore car licence. You take it after the BTT, usually while you are having practical lessons, and you need it before the practical driving test.

What is on the FTT

  • 50 questions from the official Final Theory of Driving handbook: more advanced situations, expressways, hazards and safe driving.
  • You need 45 correct (90%).
  • The free Singapore FTT mock tests on PassDriveTest use the same 50 questions and pass mark.

Booking

  • Pass the BTT first.
  • Book at a driving centre. Fee: $7.20 (since 13 March 2026), rising to $8.00 from 13 March 2027.
  • The same booking rules apply as for the BTT: no more than 12 demerit points, no suspension or disqualification, and not under police investigation.

A study plan that works

  1. Read the Final Theory of Driving handbook and use the Traffic Police's free FTT practice questions.
  2. Connect it to your lessons: the FTT asks about real situations, so think about what you would do in each one.
  3. Take full 50-question mock tests and review every wrong answer.
  4. Aim for 48 or more on several different mock tests.

After the FTT, you can book the Class 3 or 3A practical test. New drivers then hold a probationary licence for one year.

Take a free FTT mock test to see where you stand.
